To set the stage, you need to know that Wendy tends a garden half a block away. William, our neighbor up the street, plants a garden every year and that's about as far as he takes it. He doesn't weed or till, he doesn't harvest the vegetables. He just plants and then takes off for the lake for the whole summer!
Her corn stalks were flattened as were a few pepper plants. Everything else appeared to be unharmed . . . green tomatoes are on the vine, blossoms are on the bean stalks, peppers are reaching a nice size to harvest, and the resident rabbits are happy.
