In previous trips to Vermont, I was able to see, drive across, and photograph a few of them. On this trip, I added many more to my discovery list. Covered bridges flourished in the United States in the 19th century and Vermont, with about 104 of them, has the highest density of bridges in the whole country! Vermont and New Hampshire share the Cornish-Windsor Bridge, the longest wooden covered bridge in the United States.
By Thursday, Becky was tired of looking for them and at them. So even though we were close to even more on Friday, I wisely didn't press the issue…LOL. I created a little poster of the 20 bridges that we saw. Enjoy...
