Becky and I happened upon it way back in 2007 while camping just down the mountain in Marion at Mountain Stream RV Park. We were out exploring, saw the sign, and made the turn. I have told many people that I don't smoke, drink, or buy lottery tickets, but I do buy handmade soap. I don't hesitate to pay the price of hand-crafted soap due to its natural, healthy properties. I much prefer it over a bar of chemical detergent.
Tim and Karen have been in the soap making business for over 16 years. They make roughly 150 varieties of soap in multiple formulations all by hand. That surely ranks at the top of hand crafted soaps enterprises in the United States! It all started in a little shed in the side yard . . . hence the name, The Soap Shed.
We made 2 pounds of soap on Saturday. Multiply that by several thousand and you start to understand the scope of their operation!
Expect several Postcards on this whole adventure and I will be needing some of you to be my product testers! Until then . . .
