Interpreters play the roles of historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, George Wythe, the Marquis de Lafayette, Patrick Henry, and George and Martha Washington. Other characters include preachers, slaves, musicians, Native Americans, and gentry. If you are strolling down Duke of Gloucester Street, it's easy and fun to listen to conversations between these interpreters.
I really enjoy photographing these folks and here are some of the faces I have captured this week.
It's been another incredible Grand Illumination week here in Williamsburg for me and Becky, made special by a group of dear friends, beautiful weather, some tasty dining experiences, and our stay with Gene. Thanks so much for joining us as we kicked off our Christmas season, colonial style. We'll be heading home in the morning, but my plans are to send you a few more Postcards once I get home to wrap up our trip. See you then! |
