Without question, this was one of the most beautiful days we have ever enjoyed in Colonial Williamsburg. Our trips here usually happen the first week of December and President's Weekend in February, so weather conditions don't lend themselves to garden strolls, sitting on benches in the sunshine, taking in outdoor programs, and eating outdoors. That pretty much tells you how our day unfolded and you don't have to use much imagination to picture us in it.
While the tulips are waning, we found plenty of color from many other varieties of flowers, particularly the bearded irises. Lambs born this Spring were frolicking in the fields under mom's watchful eye. The baker at the Raleigh Tavern Bake Shop was pulling a batch of gingerbread cookies out of the oven just as we walked by. It was that kind of day and here is a slideshow for you to enjoy . . .
You are invited back tomorrow evening to get the story of our Wednesday on the road and reunion with friends. Thanks again for picking up your Postcard this evening!
