We were up and outta here early (7:00) to catch our ferry from one island to the next. The ferry is only about a mile from our location here at the campground. We excitedly worked our way up the line as the vehicles boarded one by one. But just as it was our turn to drive on, we were stopped. Levi and Rod (the fishing cart on the front) were a tad too long so we were told to swing around and get in the priority line for the next boat.
We made our way into the Village and went straight to Ocracoke Coffee Company for some breakfast and go-go juice. My Dirty Monkey (2 shots of espresso, skim milk, honey, & bananas) hit the spot and washed down a moist blueberry muffin. We all sat outside and declared that breakfast was a hit.
While Becky and Rob were off securing a golf cart for our Ocracoke adventure, Trisha and I went back in to do some shopping. My t-shirt from a decade ago is threadbare, so I needed a replacement. Plus Mollie needs a permanent coffee mug.
After turning in the golf cart, we drove the 12 miles back to the ferry and wouldn't you know it, just as we pulled up, it pulled out, LOL. We were first in line again and another arrived within minutes. Once again we had a primo spot and the hour passed quickly. Jackson could have cared less . . . he was one exhausted puppy.
I couldn't decide what to order, so I tossed a coin between oysters and clam strips . . . clams won. They ended up being some of the best I've ever eaten. Winner, winner, seafood dinner!
