With the traffic nightmare in Philadelphia due to leaning bridge supports on I-495 (the route we would have traveled), we opted for the much longer, but more scenic route. Knowing that it would add several hours to our travel day, but afford us visits to some interesting places, we hit Hwy 213 north.
We had a nice drive through the park and did stop at the upper Dingmans Falls VC. We got our stamp and a park brochure there before taking a short walk to see the falls.
We've stayed here on two previous visits to the Hudson River Valley and we love our rustic room number 9! Chinese take-out hit the spot for supper. Remember that rain that I told you we would be driving in? Well, not one single drop fell on the Pilot and we actually had quite a beautiful day as evidenced here in this photo from I-84 in New York.
