I've never been to a NASCAR race, but I like to watch them on TV, especially when it's a big one like this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I've never been to the Hall of Fame, nor Speed Street, which is a three day festival in uptown Charlotte sponsored by Food Lion this weekend. So it was the perfect time for a visit!
I took so many pictures and we saw so many things in the museum, I'm only going to send you a Postcard from Level 1 and 2 today.
Glory Road is a banked ramp leading up to the 2nd floor featuring 18 historic cars and highlights 46 current and historic tracks. It also mimics the various degrees of banking, including the impressive 33-degree incline found at Talladega Superspeedway! We were hanging onto the railing for dear life!!
The exhibit there now features cars, posters, hoods, and information about Hollywood movies with racing themes.
