Today's Postcard comes to you from the tiny Ohio town of Kidron. Kidron was originally settled in 1819 by a group of Swiss Mennonites. It is also the home of Lehman's Hardware and several Amish auctions. Alan and Carie had told us that we needed to visit Lehman's and that was one of our Saturday morning destinations after breakfast with the Zoar firemen.
As we drove into town, everywhere we looked, we saw Amish buggies. It was auction day!
The buggies were parked valet-style. They would drive up and hand the reins over to a man who would unhitch the horse, put it in the barn, and then park the buggy. It was quite the interesting process. They even had a fellow whose only job was to water the horses!
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone and I'll tell you about Lehman's Hardware if you come back around tomorrow.
