Each year, the tenant in the Greenhow Tenement decorates the Kitchen with a whimsical theme. Two years ago it was a beehive, worker bees, and the queen bee. Last year it was foxes, hounds, and horses. This year it's the English nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle."
Everything is made from sugar cookies and the attention to detail is incredible! While we were there, the Christmas decoration walking tour was also there, so we got to listen in on all the information being shared and that was cool.
Lunch was at the Cheese Shop with Doug, Gail and the kiddos. They are leaving tomorrow, so we sat and chatted for a long, long time before saying goodbye. It's hard when you don't see special friends but once every year or two.
At the DeWitt Wallace Museum, we attended a 2:30 musical program called "Civil War Christmas Dulcimers". It was a wonderful program featuring mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, psaltries, a harp, piano, and mandolin...a total of over 600 strings among the instruments! One of the dulcimers was made in Black Mountain at Song of the Wood.
Thanks so much for stopping by today to join us in Williamsburg and enjoy the rest of my nursery rhyme photos.
