We drove our favorite route, the Colonial Parkway, over to Yorktown for our first stop at the Nancy Thomas Gallery. Becky and I both love the work of this folk artist. Thank goodness her art is affordable and over the years, we've collected many pieces.
After leaving Mathews, we drove through the country over to West Point where we visited another antique store. This one wasn't very impressive I must say. No special finds. We made our way back to the 'Burg from there and made two final stops. The first one was at a funky little shop called Quirks of Art. It had lots of creative Christmas items and very cool art pieces. I saw some stained glass night lights that were coffee cups and would definitely have bought one if they weren't 30 bucks! I am notorious for snapping photos of things I know I can recreate for a fraction of the cost and I can make this for just a few bucks. Please don't fuss at me...LOL! | After a stop for something tall and icy from Dunkin' Donuts, we headed back to Gene's to relax before joining the gang for supper at 6:00. Thanks so much for dropping in today to hear about our loop through the counties of Gloucester, Mathews, James City, and back home! |
