On Friday during our Frederick County camping trip, Becky and I put on our tourist britches and headed into the City of Frederick. On a portion of our visit, we strolled through Carroll Creek Park. This mile-long creekside park - part of a flood-control project started in the 1980s - features walkways, gardens, bridges, and public art. Local artist William Cochran and his helpers transformed a plain concrete bridge on South Carroll Street into the Community Bridge. A "tromp l'oeil" illusion of stone and ivy provides a beautiful trick for the eye. Swimming ducks, lily pads in full bloom, folks like us strolling beside the water, shops and restaurants, pedestrian paths, water features, and public art provided a beautiful inner city landscape that we thoroughly enjoyed. If you stroll back by tomorrow, I'll share a Postcard featuring our lunch stop and a museum visit. See ya then!
