We were off and on the computer for a couple of days looking at the forecast for Saturday and our travel-home-day on Sunday. With a 100% chance of rain today and an 80% chance tomorrow on our route, we decided to leave for home early this morning.
That meant that we needed to spend time packing and saying our goodbyes to the folks not heading to North Carolina. In addition, a storm blew up at the tail end of our Kentucky Oaks party and we all scattered and ran for cover. That explains the events of last evening and today.
We pulled out of My Old Kentucky Home State Park at 7 a.m. this morning and were in front of the rain and storms all the way home! So this evening's Postcard comes to you from Newton.
Highway Bob took the lead for our drive home and did a most excellent job of navigating and making stops just when we needed them. I drove the first couple of hours and the last hour, with Becky taking the middle shift. Rich and Sue in their Happy Camper brought up the rear.
