So what exactly did we do all day in the gray?
Our first destination was the St. George Tucker House where Foundation members can attend special programs from the Nation Builder series. Each morning at 11:00, Colonial Williamsburg character interpreters speak for about 30 minutes, then go out of character for another 30 minutes of Q & A. This morning we were treated to a program featuring the Marquis de Lafayette.
I realize that the last thing I need is another travel coffee mug, but I just couldn't resist something to warm up my insides! I also couldn't resist capturing this gray day in a few photos along the way from under my umbrella. I should have a picture of me juggling a mug of hot chocolate and a camera from underneath an umbrella while bundled up like the Pillsbury Doughboy!
About 2:30 we hopped on the bus and headed over to re-connect with our colonial crew for another musical program at the Art Museum's Hennage Auditorium at three o'clock. Today we listened to an hour of Old Time Christmas music by the Orion Band and Virginia Sky. We were entertained with fiddle, guitar, hammered dulcimer, psaltry, flute, harp, piano, autoharp, and banjo.
Afterwards we were ready to head back to our room, get out of all our wet gear, and rest for a bit before gathering again for supper with everyone. Susan and Bob were in charge of supper tonight and they provided Moroccan Stew, salad, and garlic bread.
Before we called it a night, out came the birthday cards, cake, and presents for Becky, the birthday girl!
