The last two mornings, Baby Gracie has been channeling her inner Murphy and waking me up about 6:30 with a couple of woofs in my ear to let me know she wanted to go outside. No worries, because like Murphy Girl, she will crawl back in bed and we'll get in another hour of sleep.
Our mornings here at Andrew Jackson State Park have been quite leisurely. We are in absolutely no hurry to get up and at 'em like we do when camping with friends. Laidback breakfasts, no-rush showers, CBS morning shows, and computer time occupy the first few hours.
Tarlton offered a flag of truce to Buford, who refused it. Tartleton's men attacked the Patriots mercilessly, not even giving them time to load their muskets. The Virginians were slaughtered. More than 100 died and 84 were buried here. An unmarked grave nearby holds the remains of at least 25 more Patriots.
Thanks so much for picking up your Postcard this evening. I'll see ya back here on Wednesday. Nite nite from Andrew Jackson State Park where the pups are snoozing and the frogs are croaking.
