Rich and Sue took the lead position and we followed like little ducklings behind them. Just a few miles down the Trace, we pulled off on Highway 96 to see the incredible Double Arch Bridge.
At 9 o'clock this morning, six T@Bs and one T@DA pulled out of Seven Points Campground to begin our caravan adventure down the Natchez Trace. We gathered in front of the big National Park sign to record the first leg of our journey. It's been two years since the last time I was in a T@B caravan and I had forgotten how much fun it is and how much l love traveling with my T@B buddies! Rich and Sue took the lead position and we followed like little ducklings behind them. Just a few miles down the Trace, we pulled off on Highway 96 to see the incredible Double Arch Bridge. Another stop was made at the Tobacco Farm and it's possible to drive on a two mile portion of the Old Trace that is behind the barn. Unfortunately, that doesn't include cars towing cute little campers. One of the many things that make a T@B caravan special is a parking lot picnic. Once parked, we haul out tables, chairs, and food. We are quite the sight when we circle up for our lunches! Today's picnic was held at the Meriwether Lewis Historic Site. After lunch, we saw exhibits at the Visitor Center, walked to the gravesite of Meriwether Lewis, and strolled on a portion of the Old Trace. roads. When one would become impassable, another one would be "carved" beside it. It was here that we had to say goodbye to Diane who had to start heading back home to Atlanta for work on Friday. Now there were just six of us cruising along. At our last stop of the day, Colbert Ferry, we called ahead to J.P. Coleman State Park to make sure they had room for us for the night. They did and we are settled in for the evening after a great first day of caravanning. Thanks for stopping by this evening to pick up your Natchez Trace Postcard! See ya tomorrow!!

We're so with you all in spirit! I love the pic of everyone gathered in the parking lot eating lunch! Reminds me when we did this on the BR parkway, somewhere in NC. Looking forward to tomorrows edition! S3
