Our Friday started out with thunder, lightning, and heavy rain at 5 a.m. It was cloudy most of the morning and early afternoon, but that didn't stop our pursuit of making the most of our final day camping and being together.
We all met at Rita's in Folly Beach for lunch...one last chance to get some shrimp and grits. After all, Judy told me it was her favorite shrimp and grits place and I just couldn't leave town without seeing and tasting for myself.
We strolled around downtown Folly Beach to snap a few last pics.
Everyone went in separate directions from that point. Becky and I made a side trip out to Fort Lamar to see the earthworks at the site of the Battle of Secessionville, a local Civil War conflict. | Because we could see blue sky, we decided to drive into Charleston, park along the Battery, and do some walking. |
When suppertime rolled around, we all voted for Jack's Cosmic Dogs on the road back to Folly Beach. Alton Brown on the Food Network said it would be where he would eat his last meal and I thought that was sound thinking!
Thanks so very much for stopping by during this past week to pick up your James Island Spring Break Postcards. Next week I'll go back and fill in a few voids of the things we saw and did...the ones I didn't have a chance to tell you about. Have a great weekend everyone!
