Out came the tools once again this morning. We cut the lattice to length and drilled the screw holes. The hardest part was finding the right handsaw to do the cuts.
Check another home project off the list! New lattice is now wrapping the deck and looks mighty sharp. Step one was to pull all the broken, rotted, and dilapidated wooden lattice off from underneath the deck. Wendy make quick work of that last week. That opened up a small section to the left of the steps, a larger section beside that, and a third one over the gnarly roots of the redbud tree. Step two involved getting a coat of black paint along the skirt boards and Miss Wendy finished that earlier in the week. She took several measurements, made a diagram of the open areas, and determined how many pieces of lattice we would need. Out came the tools once again this morning. We cut the lattice to length and drilled the screw holes. The hardest part was finding the right handsaw to do the cuts. Step three consisted of drilling pilot holes in the deck and attaching the new strips of lattice! VOILA . . . success!! Step four will involve a boatload of mulch to fill in all those exposed roots, but that project will have to wait for awhile, because I see an afternoon of relaxing and reading ahead. See ya tomorrow friends!

You don't seem to use the Coffee Cup very often, was it worth the time and expense?

Hi Caroline...I had a trip planned for The Cup in March, but ended up having skin cancer surgery instead. She has developed a problem with her brakes and that will be taken care of next week. I have two Sept. trips planned with her. Worth the time and expense? ABSOLUTELY and I would do it all over again! Comments are closed.
