Around 8:30 this morning we all gathered up at the community site for some cowboy coffee making. Simply put, we took green coffee beans, put them in a cast iron skillet, and roasted them until they were dark brown and almost burned. Then the beans were taken out and ground.
Next, the ground coffee was added to a big pot with boiling water and stirred until it looked like a slurry. From there it went into a big enamel pot with more boiling water and finally served. It wasn't as strong as everyone anticipated and our experiment with making cowboy coffee was a success!
Downtown we shopped at several antique shops where I found some wooden sewing machine drawers, Becky bought some Christmas ornaments and a Tupperware cake carrier, and Sue scored a sweet little Tupperware bowl with a teal top. Other stops were made, but nobody found anything else.
Thanks for dropping by once again. Sleep well and I'll have your Friday Postcard ready for you tomorrow evening.
