Becky and I continued our Reunion Day ritual...
- walking downtown mid-day
- strolling around the Square visiting the vendors
- pausing at the Veteran's Memorial
- getting free dog treats from our vet
- scoring the official Reunion hand fan
- smelling festival food
- hearing kids begging their parents to buy them a toy
- picking up free ink pens from our insurance agent and bank
- greeting friends that we ran into
- seeing chairs that lined the parade route since Tuesday
- spotting patriotic banners and Confederate reenactors
- being handed cards from politicians wanting our votes
- having lunch at H&W Drug.
I'll spare you the photos of fire trucks with kids riding on top, horses prancing down the street, politicians and beauty queens doing their famous waves, veterans of foreign wars, cheerleaders, high school bands with their infectious drum cadence, Shriners riding their golf carts, and organizational floats.
The only photos from the 171 units in the parade that I want to share with you are the ones from our church. If you look closely, you'll see Becky in her red t-shirt waving to me! Peeping over the top of the three green boxes is Ned Jarrett, and Pastor Ollis is in the yellow t-shirt.
