We stopped for gas in Waverly and decided to have a picnic lunch. It's hard to beat pimento cheese on crackers, Doritos, and a Fresca!
Since our trips to Williamsburg over the last several years have been in December, it's been quite a while since we've seen leaves on the trees and shade on the sidewalks. We paused several times to sit on benches and people watch. A shared icy orange slushy sure did hit the spot! The gardens in early June are full of foxglove and poppies. Yorktown onions were scattered here and there. We strolled from the College to the Capital. |
Our route for tomorrow will take us over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and up the Delmarva Peninsula as we make our way to Galena, MD where we'll be staying with Beth and Pete for a few days.
Thanks for checking in with us this evening. All is well here in The 'Burg and I'll chat with you tomorrow from Maryland!
