When going into Asheville on Highway 70, we always pass an interesting place near the Blue Ridge Parkway called "Filo." The architecture of the building is quite unusual and the sign out front that announces "pastries cakes chocolates coffees" has always caught our attention.
Wendy ordered a cafe au lait and a Greek pastry called a rugelach.
After some serious shopping, it was time for a late lunch and I knew exactly where I wanted to go . . . 12 Bones Smokehouse in the River Arts District. I've been by there numerous times and the parking lot was always full and the line out the door was always long. Friday was no exception!
We didn't leave until almost 2 o'clock and the line of a dozen people deep outside never seemed to end.
Next time you are in the Asheville area, you need to add FILO and 12 Bones to your eating considerations. Merry Christmas and good eats y'all!!
