I've got a whole set of photos from the tour to show you, but it will have to wait until an evening next week. I'll leave you with a photo of SplashT@B with her sunset hues going on. Thanks for dropping by this evening and I'll chat with you tomorrow!
It was a cool 55 degrees outside this morning and I slept like a little bug in a rug, all toasty and warm under my blankets. After a hot shower, I joined the early morning coffee crew at the shelter for two cups of joe and an hour of chit chat. What a fun way to start out my day!! At 11:00 o'clock I piled Judy, Rebecca, and Bettina into the car and we were off for downtown Clinton with its 20+ antique shops. I got them to pose for the required photo and then the junkin' fun began! We spent an entire hour in Granny's Attic where just about everyone found something to purchase. I scored a campy, kitschy small metal calendar from Washington, DC. For $6.50 I just could not resist its cuteness. All the dials work and the numbers drop down when you spin the round part! We took a break from shopping and walked to Hoskins Drug Store for lunch. What a nostalgic, small town gem with its booths and soda fountain. My BLT was outstanding and it was a FUN meal! After lunch it back to more shopping. Thank goodness I have the map and business cards from everywhere we stopped. After about ten shops, they all started running together. I saw some really cool items like picnic baskets, folding aluminum chairs, lots of thermoses and lunch boxes, car parts, a swivel bar stool, but I also saw a downright scary baby doll and coffee tin lamp. It was totally weird and creepy!! One of my favorite places was a store full of mid-century modern stuff called Not Your Average. I picked up a little something, something for Becky there. We had to scoot back to the campground and get ready for our trailer tour. All the antique dealers and shop owners were invited to come see our campers and we were expecting about three dozen. Starting at five o'clock we gave tours, offered snacks, and got to chat with many that we had seen earlier in the day. More fun!
