Becky and I hitched up Splash in record time this morning. Why? It was too dang cold to piddle around and take our time! I have never, ever left for a camping trip in 23 degree weather! It might have been a frigid start, but the sun was shining, traffic was light, the pups were excited to be going somewhere, and so were Becky and I.
Getting through Charlotte on a Sunday morning was a breeze and we didn't stop until we were well south of there on Highway 151 so everyone could take a potty break. A sweet young clerk came out with her camera and I just knew she wanted a photo of Splash. Nope! She wanted one of Murphy and Gracie.
Becky took over the driving duties and we were on our way again through the South Carolina countryside.
We strolled down to the office to get checked in and snapped a couple touristy photos in the gigantic beach chairs. I'm thinking this will be a cool spot to snap a photo of my Coastal Caravan Peeps come October.
The Ritchies walked over for a visit and to talk about our upcoming week. We've got the sunny spot and those rays sure felt good!
After supper we stopped at Murrell's Inlet Seafood to pick up some fresh, local shrimp and soups for tomorrow's meals. A quick trip to Food Lion rounded out our late afternoon stops.
Thanks for dropping in and I'll chat with you tomorrow from the coast!
