We were up and out of Newton well before the sun came up. Making excellent time, we rolled into town before one o'clock. Neither one of us could believe how many people were town and we ended up parking at Gene's house (where we stayed for years and years) before heading back to Merchants Square.
Becky had a few things on her shopping list so we took care of that first. It was very windy, cloudy, and cold and I really didn't want to walk around taking photos under those conditions so shopping sounded like a reasonable substitute. We ultimately made our way to the Peanut Shop to graze through the free samples. We look at it as dessert...LOL.
Our room was ready and check in was a breeze. We weren't here long before there was a knock at the door. "Housekeeping." When I opened the door, I found a little fellow holding a bag. He handed it to me and said "Happy birthday!" Wow...how cool.
