I had to wrestle the laptop away from Splash in order to send you the first of five special edition Postcards. That involved a promise to let her have it back tomorrow. Such a diva . . . LOL. On this past Saturday while at the NC DOG, 13 of us traveled over to Winston-Salem to participate in a class that was set up by D'Nise through the Old Salem Museums & Gardens. At 10 o'clock sharp, the door to the kitchen opened up and we were welcomed by Sister Joanne and Sister Leslie and invited in. Joanne talked to us a bit about what we would be cooking and how we would be participating. It was quickly established that we would be doing most of the work. They had laid out all the ingredients and utensils for the four dishes we would cook. The fire in the hearth was blazing and the kettles, pots, bowls, and utensils awaited. For the next hour and a half, we divided up the chores and all thirteen of us were immersed in cooking four dishes on the open hearth. On Friday I will tell you all about our first dish - Spinach Baked With Cream. I hope you will drop back by to follow our progress. Thanks for picking up your special Postcard today!
