J.M. Smucker Store and Cafe

Mornin' y'all...it's time to get back on the road and join me in a visit to another place I found on The Map during Saturday's exploration of Amish country.

After leaving Lehman's, we took a back road to avoid all the congestion of auction day.  We traveled north on a lane with no lines whatsoever and  barely wide enough for a couple vehicles.  Well, I guess you could count buggy tracks and horse poop as road markers...LOL.

We drove a mile or so on Highway 30, the Lincoln Highway, before turning right towards Orville, OH. We were headed to the J.M. Smucker Company!

As we drove up to the parking lot, we saw banners on both sides of the road with flags that said, Jif Peanut Butter, Martha White Flour, Eagle Brand Condensed Milk, Folgers Coffee, Hungry Jack, Crisco, and Pillsbury.  The big question that came to mind was whether or not Smucker's was the mother-company for all these brands or part of something bigger.  ????

Once inside, that question was answered.  Yes, Smucker's owns this family of brands.  The minute we stepped into the huge barn-like store I knew it was going to be a fun shopping experience!

Each of their products had its own display area featuring household items, cooking utensils, signature gifts and merchandise, and much more.  Off to my left, I spotted the coffee area and I tried to not get too excited or distracted because I wanted to leave that portion of the store until last.

Colorful glass bottles formed the wall at the back of the store, Becky and Sue shared an intimate moment with the Pillsbury Doughboy, and the rest of us tasted Smucker products and did some serious shopping.

I simply could not hold out any longer and I headed straight for the coffee.  Folgers, Life Is Good, Dunkin' Donuts...it was all there in addition to coffee presses, plates and mugs, ink pens that wrote with a coffee smell, aprons, coffee stirrers, Christmas ornaments, wooden signs, place mats, Keurig machines, coffee canisters, and K-cups.  OMG!!!

Needless to say, I filled up my shopping cart quickly and helped their bottom line greatly!

Also in the store was a nice little cafe with tables for dining and a museum where you can learn about the company that says, "With a name like Smuckers, it has to be good."
