Knowing that there was a possibility that the road off the island would be flooded once again, the first wave of Beach Peeps pulled out of the campground at eight o'clock. With walkie-talkies in hand, we radioed back and forth and got our crew parked at McDonald's for breakfast with Rich and Sue leading the way.
The minute I got out of the car I heard a hissing noise. I had run over something and my left rear tire was going flat in a hurry. Luckily this Walmart had an auto center, so I pulled around back. My Beach Peeps didn't desert me! In the spirit of "no T@Bber left behind", they all stayed with me while I got the tire plugged.
