Because Oliver Travel Trailers are only sold factory direct, you cannot locate a dealer, walk on the lot, and check them out. But they do offer a unique way to see the Ollies up close and personal. A big map of the US on their website contains the location of owners who are willing to allow others to see their trailers. You can choose which model you want to see . . . the Legacy Elite or Legacy Elite II and "See An Ollie".
Not five minutes after I got off the phone with Terry, I got a call from Kelly Robinson, a sales associate from Oliver, introducing herself, thanking me for my interest in their trailers, and telling me that I would be contacted by the Flushers to set up a time to tour their Ollie. I laughed and told her that was all taken care of.
Once that was on my calendar, I got in touch with Mary, who also lives in Granite Falls because I was hoping to get in a quick visit with her and deliver some happies before locating the Flusher's residence.
So during my Sunday visit with Mary, we started chatting and she immediately wanted to know about this mystery 2:00 appointment. I gave her the quick version of the story and asked her if she had ever heard of an Oliver Travel Trailer because I was about to go look at one. She got the funniest look on her face and said, "I haven't told anyone yet, but I have an Oliver on order that will be ready the first of May." I was speechless for a few moments and then we could hardly contain ourselves in our excitement. So that's how Miss Mary's piece of the puzzle fit into the big picture!
Mary said she knew the Flushers because she had visited their Ollie twice. Not only that, they lived right around the corner from each other. Now you begin to see how the stars were truly starting to line up!!
I met Terry and her husband Lee at 2:00 and she gave me the grand interior tour and he gave me an equally grand exterior tour. As you can well imagine, I took dozens and dozens of photos and asked just as many questions. Here is a small portion of those snapshots . . .
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Terry and Lee and it was a great opportunity to tour the Oliver Legacy Elite II without having to make the 7-hour to Hohenwald, Tennessee. As soon as the clock struck 10:00 on Monday morning, I was on the phone to Kelly in the Oliver sales office to see if Becky and I could schedule a factory tour on Friday, the 6th. and you already know how all those stars aligned!! |
Thanks ever so much for picking up your "How The Stars Aligned" Postcards this week. Thanks also for all your kind notes about my sweet Murphy. Have a great weekend everyone!
