When we drove over the state line from Vermont into Massachusetts this morning, it was a bit disheartening. For the last five days we have wondered around the state like gypsies, eating, shopping, sight-seeing to our heart's content. It's a little hard to see our route (marked in orange) on this map, but it's quite clear that we were two happy wanderers. Just before leaving the state we happened upon the perfect pumpkin patch this morning . |
We were delighted to finally see some color in the trees as we rose in elevation. Highways 100, 8, and 9 had some beautiful vistas and held two surprises...the Vermont Bowl Company and the quaint town of Wilmington!
We drove over to Williamstown, got checked into our motel, and then headed back over to the campground for supper and a campfire with the gang. It was a treat to see several Newbies coming to the 2016 Blue Ridge! | We had lunch at a seafood restaurant called The Anchor and while the service was VERY slow, the food was excellent. |
Thanks so much for traveling along with us! I will chat with you when I get back home and share all kinds of backstories and snapshots.
