This weekend and this day have become tradition for me and Becky ever since we retired from teaching and we joined the endless weekend crowd. Our traditional Grand Illumination trip now includes six of our dearest camping buddies.
Since we all rolled in so late last night, we enjoyed a leisurely morning. We were delighted to see the sun shining after such a dreary wet day yesterday. With that sunshine came colder temperatures and a very brisk wind.
We bundled up and headed over to Duke of Gloucester Street for a fine stroll before lunch at the Art Museum Cafe and our 12:30 program.
We made the decision to get pizzas from Papa Murphy's for supper and made a stop there before heading home to the guys. After a slice of red velvet cake for dessert, everyone threw on coat, gloves, and scarves to head back over to the Historic Area for the 7:00 fireworks. That is everyone except, me, Helen, Bob, and Susan. We opted for the warmth of the condo and watched the live stream on the internet.
That's how our traditional Grand Illumination Sunday was spent. Tomorrow we have more planned to see and do and I hope you'll drop back by to pick up your Postcard. Happy Sunday from the 'Burg!
