She's over to the left under the crepe myrtles just past the VW bus. You can barely see her little Carolina blue bug peeping out as the crowds stroll by. I'll let her Beetle's parking light go first in a long stream of crazy cool chrome. Enjoy...
About two o'clock yesterday, I walked downtown to check out the old cars and look for some flashy chrome to photograph. Becky had already claimed her favorite spot in the shade and was settled in for some serious people-watching. She's over to the left under the crepe myrtles just past the VW bus. You can barely see her little Carolina blue bug peeping out as the crowds stroll by. I'll let her Beetle's parking light go first in a long stream of crazy cool chrome. Enjoy...

Love the chrome... Especially the big Chevy grill and the airplane. Great pics... Looks like a cool event.

We love Reunion Week...it's so ingrained in all of us who have lived here our whole lives. The celebration itself has gone on continuously for 124 years (longest in the nation of this type). I'm not sure when the Sunday afternoon car show and cruisin' started, but it's a tribute to what we did on weekend evenings around the Courthouse. The City of Newton changed the streets downtown from two-way to one-way in 1972 in an attempt to stop all the rowdy teens from hanging out there. That's why no cars dating after 1972 are allowed in the festivities. Gotta love small towns!! Comments are closed.
