The old homestead here on West 6th has turned into cast iron central. Wendy pulled out our big, beautiful Lodge 12" skillet and whipped up her famous Pineapple Upside-down Cake. We tag-teamed supper duties: I took care of the pork roast, potatoes, and zucchini, while she was in charge of dessert. Here's how it all played out . . . I cooked a pork roast and quartered some red potatoes to go around it in the baking dish. It roasted side by side with zucchini for an hour. It was all I could do not to eat dessert first! This morning I set off on my rounds and delivered big hunks of cake to Grace, Louise, and Becky. There's one piece left for me because this is the note I found beside the cake plate this morning... Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. I'm headed to the deck because I hear some iced tea and cake calling my name!!
