Today was our Travel Day to Tybee Island. Most everyone had done their packing yesterday because none of us wanted to put things away wet. We had heavy, heavy dew every morning at OP and knew this morning would be no different. Splash looked a bit bare sitting in our campsite ready to leave. Splash led the way out of the campground, but stopped at the office for one of our famous caravan portraits. We make quite the sight when lined up nose to butt. We all have oodles and oodles of photos of our T@Bs, but that doesn't stop us from taking more! And of course we have to stand in the road to talk about how stinking cute they all are. We had an uneventful trip down I-95 to Tybee. The GA Welcome Center is undergoing major renovations, but we managed to fit 13 of us in quite nicely. After a comfort stop, lunch for some, and a driver switch for us, we hit the road again. The River's End staff was ready and waiting on us with welcome bags and escorts to our sites. Most everyone is in the same site as last year. The campground looks marvelous considering it as under water with trees down and no power just three weeks ago! Splish, Splash, Becky and I are tucked in under the big live oak tree in site number 66. It didn't take us too terribly long to get set up but it was awfully hot. Thankfully we left the mosquitos behind at OP!! We rolled out at 5:45 in a little convoy to AJ's Dockside for supper. Spread out all over the restaurant both inside and out, we all anticipated a great supper and we were not disappointed. The sun sets over the waterway and marina and we were treated to a spectacular sunset. Thanks for dropping by to pick up your Sunday Travel Day Postcard. I will see you tomorrow!
