Initially, we thought about getting sandwiches and having a picnic somewhere, but then decided we'd drive up to Mt. Pisgah and have lunch at the Pisgah Inn.
The closer we got to Mt. Pisgah, the cloudier it became. That's nothing new, as clouds hang around the summit much of the time. Mist, fog, rain, and even snow are common to this elevation. But on Sunday, at Milepost 408, we only had clouds and a bit of a drizzle.
The Blue Ridge Parkway through the Mt. Pisgah area opened for travel in the mid-60's and the Present Pisgah Inn was built in 1964.
That's where Becky, Roger, and I enjoyed lunch sitting beside the window affording us long-range views of the Blue Ridge. We all ordered sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
