I had an easy drive up here from home. Because I had written directions from the campground, I didn't have my GPS turned on.
As I came around the curve and saw the sign for the campground, a little voice inside said, "that's someone's driveway, it couldn't be the campground." So I kept driving.
I was convinced I was driving down someone's driveway until I saw the welcome sign and trailers up ahead.
They pulled in about 2:30 safe and sound from their trip on the Parkway from Moonshine Creek Campground near Balsam Mountain.
We had an excellent supper of grilled chicken, broccoli and cheese, and salad. I strolled around, took some photos, and then discovered to my dismay, that I had lost an earring while pulling my sweatshirt off and on. I guess I used up all my good camping karma maneuvering the 10-point turn. Heavy sigh...
We've got a nice view from our sites and with cool mountain breezes, we ended our day here at Spruce Pine Campground.
