We cranked up the AC in the car and headed over to the Lake Norman area and a little town called Cornelius. Our faithful fold-out antiques guide showed Oak Mill Antigues and that sounded promising. Any time an old abandoned mill is re-purposed for antiques and collectibles, it's worth a visit!
I love Jane Coslick's beach cottages on Tybee Island and that's the shabby chic look that I'm shooting for. These four photos from my camping trip there last year are examples of the beachy colors I want to use.
Now it's matter of getting back to Cornelius to buy them and then finding a time to go to the beach!
I have an idea for some cool headboards made out of old chippy, weathered shutters, some wire baskets to hold beach towels, a mirror framed with pieces of driftwood.....stuff that I can create and make.
So it was a successful junkin' trip and plans are starting to fall into place for a beachy re-do!
