Becky and I pulled out of Newton at nine o'clock on the dot. We didn't hit rain until we got to the state line and it never was a driving rain, so that was good. We made a stop for a late breakfast in Black Mountain, several rest area stops, and one for gas. We pulled into the campground at 3:10 CST...seven hours just as I had predicted.
Our check-in was smooth, our site is a pull-through, and we were set up in no time flat!
I strolled around the campground loop to get a bit of exercise after our long drive and also get the lay of the land. Our seven sites are just up from the lake and right around the corner from the bathhouse.
Supper was great...boiled shrimp Bec brought home from the beach, potato salad, fresh green beans with almonds, homemade bread, 3-bean salad, and persimmon bread for dessert...what a feast!
We've got our little ceramic heater going and despite the 40 degree temperatures outside, we'll be nice and toasty inside the T@B. Sleep well y'all.
