We met the gang at Trinkle Hall on the campus of William and Mary for the traditional arts and craft show held there on Grand Illumination Saturday and Sunday. This year was extra special because I was picking up my Lunchbox Surprise from Suzy. If you missed Splash's Story on it a couple weeks ago, you can read all about it HERE.
We made a beeline for Suzy and Beth's booth and spent considerable time looking at all the vintage goodies, not to mention seeing the lunchbox in person for the first time.
I didn't have to look too hard to find something that I really liked. It's a hand-painted campfire that will sit inside my fireplace at home, that I can enjoy all through the year. Nancy signed the front for me and wrote on the back, "all through the year"!
I slipped away for a few minutes before the program began in order to get some photos of the huge Christmas tree in the museum featuring hundreds of handmade folk art ornaments by volunteers.
Our last activity of the night was another musical program at 7:30. This one was held downtown at the Kimball Theater in Merchant's Square. It was an evening of Celtic music by two groups, an Irish foursome from Boston called Fellswater, and Williamsburg's Poisoned Dwarf. The program lasted two hours and was probably the best one we've ever heard here for Grand Illumination.
Hours and hours of fun yes indeed. Tomorrow promises to be another fun one and I invite you back to pick up your Grand Illumination Sunday Postcard.
