The Swiss chard was baked, the chicken pies were out of the Dutch ovens, and the salad was dressed. There was only one thing left to do - make some dessert. When Joanne told us that we would be making waffles for dessert, I thought that was a little odd, but when it was all said and done, it was the perfect finale for our grand meal. Our 18th-century hearth-cooked dishes were completed. There was only two things left to do: set the table and sit down to eat with friends. If you pick up your Postcard on Tuesday, you will see what an 18th-century middle class meal looks like. I hope you will join me for the feast. Thanks for dropping by today!
