In all five of the biopsies there was no indication of cancer!! What did show up was inflammatory disease, bacteria overgrowth, and food hypersensitivity. All treatable!! We'll continue her current meds and change her food proteins from chicken and beef to salmon and venison.
The phone call from Carolina Veterinary Specialists finally came this afternoon. Dr. Sluiter asked first how Miss Murphy was doing, then quickly told me that the biopsy results were in. I have tried to be patient, think good thoughts, and believe in the power of puppy prayer, but I would be lying if I told you I wasn't very worried. In all five of the biopsies there was no indication of cancer!! What did show up was inflammatory disease, bacteria overgrowth, and food hypersensitivity. All treatable!! We'll continue her current meds and change her food proteins from chicken and beef to salmon and venison. It's still a waiting game for Murphy's biopsy results. I should be hearing something today or tomorrow. In the meantime, Murphy is doing well. Her rash has cleared up with the help of Neosporin and her incision looks healthy. She is still sleeping a lot, but her energy level is up, she's eating with gusto, and we've had no vomiting. Fingers crossed for good news! Also in the meantime, I've pulled out my Florida information and am doing some planning for our upcoming trip down to LaBelle for the Swamp Cabbage Festival with friends. Of course the trip all hinges on Murphy's test results and our next course of treatment. Becky and I hope to pull out for Florida one week from Monday and make our way down to St. Augustine for the night and then a leisurely cruise down A1A from there. Our ETA for LaBelle is Thursday and our plan is to do a boatload of touristy stuff before we arrive.
Here's the Postcard postcard I hope to be sending you week after next. I appreciate all your notes and support for my Miss Murphy. I will share news with you soon. |
