The guys left the campground early for a trip to the Air Force Museum in Savannah. Flooded roads were predicted again this morning at high tide, so they skedaddled to get off the island.
Several of us went over to The Sugar Shack for breakfast. That was followed by a walk over to the salt marsh and around the neighborhood back to the Tybee Lighthouse. We ran into another group of Beach Peeps out for a bike ride.
I spent the afternoon journaling, taking a walk down to the beach, and visiting from site to site. Becky spent her afternoon reading and doing a load of laundry. About 4:00, we both took down the Cottonwood and began packing up for our bug-out tomorrow morning.
Ten of us went down the street for supper at Lighthouse Pizza. Bec and I made a quick run to the grocery store, then filled up the Pilot with gas. We were all looking forward to a campfire, but just as soon as we got the fire roaring, in came the rain, sending everyone scurrying.
Tomorrow we will leave Tybee Island at 8:00 so we can get out before the morning's road closing due to high tides one again. Our destination will be Jekyll Island, the last leg of our caravan.
Thanks for stopping by this evening for a very plain Postcard from our last day at River's End Campground. I'll see you in Jekyll tomorrow!!
