We headed first over to the Stono Market for lunch at the Tomato Shed Cafe at noon. Becky and I were meeting our dear friend Kathie who lives over near Folly Beach that we always try to see when we are in Charleston. She had recommended the Tomato Shed Cafe to us several years ago and boy is it a fine place to eat. Their vegetable plate of four is my favorite and the choices number about three dozen!!
Mornin' friends and campers! It was a busy, fun day here on Johns Island yesterday. We all had a lazy, chilly start to our day with coffee, breakfast, and visiting. It didn't take long for the jackets to come off and day-plans to be finalized. After lunch we drove about 10 miles to Wadmalow Island to visit the Charleston Tea Plantation. Every single one of us thought it was the highlight of our day! We shopped, did a little factory tour, then took the 30-minute trolley tour back into the thousands of acres of tea plants. Our last stop before heading back to the campground was at Angel Oak. This magnificent live oak is an estimated 400-500 years old. Too bad the mosquitos were so ferocious. We snapped some photos and scooted inside the gift shop. Once back at OP, we plopped down in our chairs for a bit of a rest before pulling out leftovers and joining everyone over at the Double L Compound (Lukes & Lubowitz's) for a community supper. So that's what our Monday on Johns Island looked like. It was indeed as fine one with friends! Thanks so much for dropping by to pick up your Postcard and I'll see ya back here Wednesday morning!
